BIOGRAPHY Phillip Filo started his professional career in 1984 with his first television commercial for Toyworld at the age of seven. The rest of his childhood and teenage years were spent fronting many local and international television advertising campaigns for a catalogue of brands including Colgate, Arnott’s, Mattel, Cottees and Coca-Cola. Immediately after finishing high school, Phillip was offered his first full time performing job as a Singer/Dancer at Australia's Wonderland. For the ten years that followed, Phillip had the good fortune to continue working as a full-time performer on a variety of projects. Some highlights include playing 'Henry' in the Reef Hotel Casino's "Firefly"; Singer/Dancer in the Norwegian Star's "Starcast"; ‘Doody’ in two separate national tours of "Grease"; and touring Australia with Sir Tim Rice, INXS and Anthony Warlow as a featured singer as well as choreographer in "Tim Rice's Musical Spectacular". In 2004, Phillip returned to his roots in theme park entertainment, securing the role of 'Wolfie' in Universal Studios Japan's "Monsters Live." Immersed in the world of theme park creativity, he felt a growing passion to transition into behind-the-scenes work. By 2005, he had moved into a full-time role as Musical Director on USJ's creative team, later advancing to Associate Director and eventually Show Director. Notable projects during his tenure at USJ include: the 2007 and 2008 "Universal Studios Japan Halloween Parade" - Director/Choreographer; "Santa's Toy Party" 2008 - Director/Choreographer; the 2009 “Magical Starlight Parade” - Head Choreographer; "Hello Kitty's Hollywood Adventure" - Musical Director/Choreographer; "Sesame St Dancing Dreams" - Musical Director/Choreographer and "Wicked" - Resident Musical Director.
